New Princess V45 Preview
Simon Colebrooke, Premier Yacht Division Manager, previews the new V45, the first of which is rapidly approaching completion.
V45
I was one of the first members of the Princess sales team to view the new Princess V45 at the factory in Plymouth.

I arrived with a sense of anticipation – it is always exciting when you see a new model for the first time. Long before you step aboard you know you are in for a treat, the boat looks sharp, it looks quick and if you were lucky enough to own one it would certainly bring a smile to your face every time you walked down the pontoon to go boating.

I stepped onto the solid wrap-around bathing platform and walked forward into the cockpit, such an important space in a modern sports boat and so well set up to entertain, relax in the sun or dine al fresco in the shade. All the upholstery was in place and the factory had presented the boat in handover condition even though she had not yet completed sea-trials.

Walking forward to the helm position you appreciate how important clever design and use of space is; the cockpit always feels open and big enough to enjoy whatever the conditions.

When you sit down at the helm position wheel the throttles fall immediately to hand, visibility is excellent and the bolsters on the helm seat grip you reassuringly and remind you that this is a thoroughbred sports boat.

This theme continues down below with lots of space, excellent head room and stunning attention to detail. The aft cabin has its own en-suite heads, ample locker space and a clever slide out section
to convert the twin beds into a double should the need arise.

The galley follows the same design as the V53 and incorporates a large fridge freezer and bar area facing the saloon to serve those long cool sundowners after a hard day’s boating! The ‘u’ shaped seating on the starboard side provides ample seating for six people to dine, chill out or watch a DVD on the flat screen TV opposite.

As with the rest of the boat the forward cabin feels like it should belong to a much bigger model. A large double bed on the center line does not dominate the cabin and again clever design and use of space are evident with plenty of storage and good headroom, even this far forward in the boat.

The en-suite complements this cabin perfectly with a large shower stall and ample stowage.

The V45 is a boat that immediately instills a feel good factor and makes you want to go boating. It has all the attributes that make life onboard fun and relaxing and I can’t wait to sea-trial the first boat.
