| Knight Rider Convention In Benidorm |
|
Fans of the 1980’s TV series ‘Knight Rider’ which starred David Hasselhoff and his futuristic car ‘Kitt’ will converge on Benidorm from 9th - 11th May for a convention at which as many as 70 replicas of the famous car could be on view. Organised by the website www.elcochefantastico.net in conjunction with Benidorm council, and the tourist boards of the Costa Blanca and Valencia, this third edition of the event is expected to attract some 10,000 visitors. Several cars which have ‘starred’ in American films and TV series will be on show, including the first ‘Kitt’ cabriolet, the Delorean DCM-12 from the film Back to the Future and the Ford Mustang GT500 that is being used in the remake of the series to be shown on Spanish television soon. Also attending will be Jose Luis Angulo, who was the dubbed voice of David Hasselhoff when the original series (named El Coche Fantistico here) was shown in Spain. The highlight of the 3 day event will be the eighth of a mile acceleration display on Saturday 10th, at the Avenida Vicente Perez Devesa. Former heart-throb Hasselhoff, who also starred in Baywatch, is not expected to appear. Full details of the schedule can be found on the website. |
