Embassy Enjoy a Successful Test!

The team were blessed with some fantastic weather and a relatively quiet track, with only five other teams testing.

Arriving with three bikes, riders Glen Richards and Paul Young piloted the Supersport machines, with AJ Venter on board the Superstock machine. All three bikes were impeccably turned out in their white livery and the Triumph factory supported team definitely looked like they meant business. Then the riders proved that this team isn’t just about looking good.

Out on the track the glorious conditions allowed the riders to really push the bikes down the straights at Croft. Every time they flew past the observing Map Embassy moto team they couldn’t help but smile to themselves. They were obviously very pleased with what they saw.

With Glen and Paul seemingly keeping up to the testing Superbikes with ease for most of the day and AJ also matching his teammates every step of the way things are looking good for the start of the season.

All three riders also seemed impressed with how the test went.

AJ Venter – Triumph Daytona 675 Superstock rider

“I was extremely pleased with what we did today. The bike is good, it has a strong engine and the suspension just got better and better throughout the day. Every time I left the pit the bike improved. The handling is great. After today I feel really good for the start of the season and extremely confident. The fact that I was keeping pace with the Supersports says it all. This is an awesome bike.”

Glen Richards – Triumph Daytona 675 Supersport rider

“For my first few laps I felt really awkward and uncomfortable but that is what today is about, getting each bike perfect for the rider. By the end of the day I felt totally at home on the bike. There are still a few minor things that we need to alter but the fact remains that from my time on the bike today I can see that it has huge potential. The weather has been excellent, in fact we couldn’t have asked for a better day. I’m really looking forward to testing at Snetterton now as we need to see what these bikes can do quite quickly as the first race is less than a month away.”

Paul Young - Triumph Daytona 675 Supersport rider

“We have been really lucky with the weather today, but I think we have deserved some luck recently. We really needed to make up for lost time today and I think we did just that. I’m extremely happy with what we learnt at Croft and now we can experiment a bit more at Snetterton next week. Although I have been riding a Triumph 675 for the last two years the bike felt really different as it had different front and rear suspension, but once I felt comfortable on the bike I was fine. Hopefully our luck will hold out weather-wise at Snetterton next week but I think today we have made the best possible start.”
